Movie Cliches

People trying to evacuate a major metropolitan area are met with armed guards at a bridge who are trying to contain the disaster the people are running from. Only people with important information or a lost child will survive.

Couple falls in love but is not sure it will work. One of them knows it will work and leaves a note or an answering machine message (not voice mail) saying to call or meet at a certain time and place. Something happens to the note or answering machine tape, or the other person tries to get to the meeting spot but doesn't make it on time.

Eligible bachelors are auctioned off for charity, giving the main character a chance to finally break the ice with the man she's been pining for, but someone icky outbids her.
