The (new) end of the road

Not a lot to report as I've been sick for nearly a week now. Monday at lunchtime, I felt a little tickle in my throat and a bit dizzy, and it was all downhill from there. I'm not at 100% yet, but if I had an office job, tomorrow would be the day I went back. Maybe on Friday, but Garrett got sick Thursday and was in pretty bad shape, so I doubt I'd have left.

I had to get out for a walk this morning, though. As much as I love my house, I can only stay inside for so long. It was obvious when I got there and did my stretches that I've been off the exercise and PT for a while. Stretching my right calf hurt the bottom of my right foot! It's all connected, after all.

After three weeks away, hunting season has started, and the Northern trail has a new terminus, about a third of a mile closer than the last spot where they dug the road out. It's a shame, too, that's a scenic third of a mile. This is the new spot where it ends.

It's a bummer for sure, but I'm proud of all the time I devoted to exploring the areas I can no longer get to.

And it's funny that today of all days I discovered I lost a lot of scenery, because I wouldn't have been able to see much anyway. The fog was just that thick.

It’s difficult when you are used to being out and about to have to stay in - but it sounded like the right thing to do! Horrible having winter illnesses.

Thankfully I only get sick once or not at all each year, I know a lot of people get sick several times.

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather, but at least you've turned the corner. Happy autumn!

Happy autumn to you! Hope you don't catch the bug going around.
